Were is the best place to go on holiday if your are on your own.?

I would go wherever the hell you want to go! I'm serious - why should your holiday options be limited just because you're a solo traveller. I'd avoid any of those nasty package deals where you'll be expected to eat/drink with a bunch of smug couples and their children- could this happen on a cruise too? Other than that, I think you can go anywhere and do anything. I've often found that when you travel independently, it's easy to make friends. In my experience, I've met more cool people travelling solo than travelling as part of a couple. If you want ease, an English speaking country will be a good bet – considered the US or Canada?
