Using multiple subdomains for seo?

Using multiple subdomains for seo?
i have 1 domain already in place which is the company name, with the site already up and running.

but i am thinking of getting another "subdomain" that will not use the company name. instead, it will use a few keywords that people will usually type in to find this business.

for example. original domain is www.quakersfc.com - subdomain is www.footballtrials.com

people who type in "football trials" on google should be able to get my site on the first page with keywords, metatags etc. added onto the original domain page... correct?
