Please be aware that there aren't supposed to be too many jobs for the medical biller or coder (or medical assistant) despite what those private overpriced for-profit tech schools say. There are just too many schools offering training but not enough job vacancies. Regarding medical billing, a lot of companies are outsourcing to Asia/India leaving jobs more scarce. With medical coding, not only does a person usually need to have completed an accredited course in medical coding as well as getting certifications in the field and a few years of work experience in order to possibly get a job, it seems as though employers prefer those with an associate (two-year) degree in medical/health information technology.
