Advice needed on an Asbestos pipe removal, please.?
There is water leakage from the asbestos soil pipe which collects water from the bath and the bathroom sink. The pipe leads down from above the bathroom ceiling down through the bathroom and down into my hallway where the hallway carpet was collecting water from the pipe (at the moment the water in the bath is scooped out and brought downstairs to prevent any further leakage onto the hallway carpet). The plumber who came to my house told me that the water was leaking from asbestos soil pipe and that it would have to be removed and replaced. He has given me a price of £620 to remove the asbestos pipe and to replace it with a UPVC pipe. However he has told me he can’t take it to the tip as only households can take the asbestos there.
